Join us next Wednesday 11/9 at 7 p.m. ET for the inaugural “Books Unbanned: From Freedom Riders to Freedom Readers Book Club” reading and conversation featuring Kimberlé Crenshaw and Ibram X. Kendi.
During this event Kendi will read an excerpt from his book, Stamped (for Kids), and engage in a live conversation with Professor Crenshaw, Co-founder and Executive Director of the African American Policy Forum, about the dangerous threats to our democracy that legislated book bans pose.
Kendi’s book Stamped (for Kids) is the ALA’s second-most banned book of 2020. Stamped (for Kids) is an introduction to the history of racism and antiracism in America.
